Subsidy to strengthen the legislative function of Sint Maarten
In February 2023 the research report “Research into the legislative function in Sint Maarten” was delivered. This is part of initiative B4.3. of the National Package. One of the recommendations concerned the provision of information, which was not in order; there is limited access to digital legal sources and court decisions. Country Sint Maarten now receives a subsidy of more than 50,000 euros from the Temporary Work Organization (TWO) to connect the legal department to digital legal systems and subscriptions to legal literature.
This is part of the goal of the National Package to strengthen the legislative function of the Country. This gives employees access to various legal databases for the next 3 years (2.5 years of which are covered by the subsidy).
