The Customs of Sint Maarten is one of the few islands in the Caribbean that does not possess an automated customs registration and declaration system. As a result, there is a significant lack of transparency regarding the movement of goods and the various stakeholders involved in these transactions. The goal is, among other things, to automate the entire customs clearance process through electronic document management and, at the same time, improve this process by extending automation to other cross-border agencies involved in international trade and linking existing automated trade systems to ASYCUDA World to provide a fully integrated solution for customs processes.
